9 - An All-Inclusive Heart Package

Romans 10
8. For salvation that comes from trusting Christ - which is what we preach - is already within easy reach of each of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths
9. For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved
10. For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation
11. For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed....
13. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

This salvation that God has offered us, that comes from trusting Christ, means that God's healing touch is extended into our lives.

If we read the life-story of the Lord Jesus, we understand that He spent at least one quarter of His time ministering healing to those who needed it.
So we can ask God to heal our bodies of all the ills that afflict us.

But the healing of bodies is not the only healing God is interested in accomplishing in us humans.
He is also interested in healing our hearts.

Jesus said this about His ministry to us humans in Luke 4:
18. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19. to preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending the Lord Jesus Christ to heal the broken areas in my heart,
Lord Jesus, today I ask you to deliver me out of captivity;
I ask You to help me to see the truth in areas where I am blind,
I ask You to set me at liberty in areas where I am oppressed,
and I thank You for opening up doors of opportunity in my life this year.
Lord, my heart overflows with gratitude for all these benefits of Your salvation,
Amen.
